Passing

Passing is a fundamental skill. It creates better scroing opportuniteis it increases teamwork and reduces turnovers. But in order to create scoring opportunites, you have to be able to pass according to the situation to get your teammates to score. Making the same type of passes for every situation can lead to lots of turnovers. Here, we will cover the types of passes that beginners can use in games and in which situations they can use them.

Chest pass

Chest pass is the most common and the most used pass by beginners. Chest pass is when you pass the ball with two hands from your chest. You can use chest pass to move the ball around, in fast break and when the defender is not close to you or to your teammate. If you use chest pass when the defender is close to you or to your teammate and you decide to make a chest pass, it will result to ball getting stolen by the defender.

Bounce pass

Bounce pass is when you pass your teammate the ball by using the floor to bounce it to your teammate. Bounce pass can be useful to pass it to a person who is cutting or when a player ask the ball in the post. Bounce pass is a good type of pass because it makes it harder for defenders to steal the ball because of how low the ball travels and it makes it easier to pass when the defender is close to you and you want to pass it to a close teammate.

Overhead pass

Overhead is when you pass the ball over your head to your teammate. Overhead pass are useful for fastbreaks and for passing over defenders. It is a useful pass because you pass it up high which makes the defenders not be able to reach for the ball and results them not being able to steal the ball.
